What is a commercial flexible door?
A commercial flexible door is a traffic door that utilizes a single hinge at the top of the door. The advantage that the flexible door offers is its ability to handle abuse from traffic passing through the opening. There is no lower hinge on the door, and the panels will “flex” if wrapped.

What are the advantages of double swinging flexible doors?
Double swinging flexible doors are ideal in wash-down environments. Also known as crash doors they hold up well to fork truck traffic when used properly. The opening size is maximized because there is no bottom hinge.
When should you choose a flexible PVC door instead of a rigid door?
Choose a flexible PVC door for high-traffic openings where you do not need to hold a temperature, or as a second door that works together with an insulated cooler or freezer door. Flexible PVC swinging doors and PVC strip curtains have very little R-value on their own.
Flexible doors work well where:
- The area gets washed down, since there are no bottom hinges or lower metal brackets to rust.
- Drivers and staff need to see through the door, since clear panels show who is on the other side.
- Carts carry wide or delicate loads, since the panels give way on impact instead of scraping the load.
